Stage Manager
About Me!

Hello and welcome! My name is Liana Carrasco, and I am a Stage Manager as well as a high school Theatre Director based in southern Arizona.

I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2020 with a degree in Design and Production, specializing in Stage Management. Graduating during the height of the pandemic made finding stage management work challenging, so I returned to my hometown. Wanting to keep theatre close to my heart, I accepted a position as the Theatre and Stagecraft teacher at my local high school. I earned my Career and Technical Education teaching certificate and have been teaching for the past five years.

Stage Management has always been my dream and passion. I first fell in love with it as a college freshman while working on deck crew for a production of Twelfth Night. Watching the assistant stage managers with their clipboards and headsets, navigating their organized chaos, sparked my interest and I’ve loved it ever since. Some of my favorite aspects of stage management are collaborating closely with all departments and witnessing a production evolve from a concept on paper into a magical theatrical experience. It’s incredible to see how this process impacts not only the production and artistic team but also the audience.

I am now focused on pursuing my career in Stage Management, with hopes of working in professional theatre across the country.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, hunting for vintage treasures, reading, scrapbooking (both digital and analog), and occasionally playing on my Nintendo Switch (I absolutely love The Legend of Zelda). I’m also a devoted cat lover and have been caring for my little cat, Fluffy, for 18 wonderful years.
